Anti-Rear Bit Strap (Buckle)

An anti-rear bit strap gives you control on the ground when a horse rears or won't lead quietly. It buckles onto the bit rings and runs up over the poll, so a horse that throws its head up meets steady pressure and learns to keep its feet down. It's the gear you want for leading a strong or green horse, on race day, or around the sale yards.

We make each one by hand from USA Beta BioThane, so you choose:

• Main colour and a contrasting keeper colour

• Your buckle style

• Size, strap width, and coating thickness

Standard and Heavy Weight share the same core strength. Heavy Weight carries extra coating for a thicker, more substantial feel in the hand.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.

Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.
