The Barcoo, or ring-head, bridle is an Australian icon. It's been used in the bush for generations because it fits a wide range of horses and adjusts easily, with no noseband to fuss over. Ours is built by hand in heavy 20mm Beta BioThane and made to your order.
The crownpiece, browband and cheeks meet at a ring on each side near the ears, the look that gives the Barcoo its name. Adjustment buckles on the poll and cheeks let you set the fit across different head shapes, so it suits the stock yard, the campdraft, the trail or a day at the track.

Pick the main and secondary colours, the keepers and the stitching, then choose your fittings in solid brass or stainless steel. Add an engraved nameplate if you'd like one. No two have to look the same.
The ring-head design and adjustable poll and cheeks fit a broad range of head shapes, which is why the Barcoo has been the stockman's bridle for so long. There's no noseband, so it's quick on and quick off.
Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.
Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.
