Custom Hanoverian Bridle

The Hanoverian bridle is a cavesson with a flash strap added, made up in tough Beta BioThane and stitched for strength. The flash sits below the noseband and buckles under the bit. It helps stabilise the bit in the mouth and discourages the horse from crossing its jaw or getting its tongue over the bit, which is why it's a common choice for dressage and eventing.

Every bridle is made to order, so you choose how it comes together:

• PVC colour and backing for the main straps

• Webbing backing for shape and strength

• Keeper and stitching colours to match or contrast

• Buckle style – comes standard with stainless steel square buckles, with other fittings available

• Browband and noseband width, plus an optional engraved nameplate

The browband and noseband are padded for comfort against the horse's head. Sizing runs from pony through to full. Because it's BioThane rather than leather, it shrugs off mud, sweat and rain and wipes clean in seconds – handy whether you're at the beach, the track or just schooling at home.

Pick the PVC colour, backing, keepers and stitching, then add an engraved nameplate if you like. The bridle is built to your spec, so it turns up looking the way you chose, not the way it came off a shelf.

The flash strap helps keep the bit steady and the horse's mouth settled. It's a quiet, practical bit of control that suits dressage, eventing and day-to-day work.

The browband and noseband are padded and backed, so the bridle sits comfortably against the horse's face without rubbing.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.

Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.
