A long line gives your dog the freedom to explore and sniff while you keep a safety net in hand. It's the in-between step on the way to off-lead reliability: your dog gets the feeling of being off the lead, you keep the ability to reel them back in.
We make each one to order from PVC-coated webbing, so it's thin and light to keep lead pressure down, yet strong enough to hold up to real training. The handle loop and snap end are stitched (not riveted), and it's finished with a solid brass trigger snap.
Recall and distance work — practise come, leave it, sit and stay from farther away, where it matters most.
Handle or drag lead — pick a stitched handle for everyday long-line walks, or go handle-free as a drag lead so there's nothing to catch underfoot.

A quick safety note: clip a long line to a harness rather than a collar to avoid jarring your dog's neck, and never wrap it around your hand.
Longlines and check cords are the trainer's go-to for teaching reliable recall. Your dog roams and explores at a distance, but can't ignore you and bolt, so you can build confidence before going fully off-lead.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.
Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.
