Flag Horse Rug - Pink Trim

The Mac Tack Flag rug is our pick for the hottest part of summer. It's made from open-weave cotton flag cloth (named for the bunting-style fabric it's woven like), the lightest and most breathable rug material we stock. Air moves straight through the weave, so your horse stays cool while still getting a barrier against sun and flies.

This is the standard cut: an open neck with no hood or neck cover, so it's the lightest of our Flag range and the easiest to throw on. White body with a bright pink trim.

• 190gsm lightweight cotton with UV-block protection to shield against harsh sun.

• Satin-lined shoulders to prevent chafing, and a fleece wither pad to stop rubbing in sensitive spots.

• Shoulder gussets for freedom of movement, plus a generous tail flap for extra coverage.

• Double buckle chest closure and removable leg straps for a secure fit.

• Quality metal fittings throughout, and machine washable for easy care.

Please note: the open-weave fabric is light by design, so these rugs aren't suited to horses that are hard on their gear or running with paddock mates who like to help take them off - they'll tear more easily than a heavier rug. For quiet horses and stable or yard use, nothing beats them on a hot day. They're the summer rug we reach for on our own Mac Tack horses.

Open-weave cotton lets air flow straight through, so heat and sweat don't get trapped. At 190gsm it sits feather-light on the horse, with UV-block protection taking the sting out of the midday sun.
