Description

A heavy-duty lead with a stainless steel chain end, for that bit of extra control when you're leading a horse that likes to test its manners. Made by hand from Super Heavy BioThane in your choice of strap and stitching colours.

Additional details

The chain end gives you more leverage than a plain lead, so it's a popular choice for stallions and any horse that needs a firmer reminder to walk politely. Used over the nose or under the chin, a light tug carries a clearer signal than the strap alone, then releases the moment your horse responds.

The strap is Super Heavy BioThane, 1" / 25mm wide, with a stitched loop handle that sits comfortably in the hand. The stainless steel chain runs 24" / 610mm and finishes in a solid snap. The quoted lead length includes the chain.

  • Stainless steel chain for extra control and leverage

  • Super Heavy BioThane strap, 1" / 25mm wide, with a stitched handle

  • Your pick of strap colour and stitching colour

  • Choose your lead length at checkout (length includes the chain)

Made to order, so the colours are up to you. Currently the chain is available in stainless steel only.

The chain section adds leverage over a standard lead, handy for studs and for horses that lean or barge. Small, well-timed tugs do the work; the pressure eases as soon as your horse softens.

Super Heavy BioThane and a stainless steel chain stand up to strong horses and rough handling. The handle loop is stitched, not riveted, so there's no hardware to work loose.

Pick your strap colour and your stitching colour. Because each lead is made to order, you can match it to your halter, your float or your colours.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.

Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.

Mac Tack is a small, Australian-owned business. We make our gear by hand from the best materials we can get, and we're proud of how it's put together.
