These are short sporting reins, made for riding collected when you need close, responsive contact. They're a single continuous length with no buckle join in the middle, so there's nothing to dig into your hands or catch as you ride. At each end is a snap clip that flicks on and off the bit in a second, and because the snaps swivel, the reins stay sitting flat instead of twisting up on you.
The hand portion has a rubber grip running through it. That's the part that earns its keep on a sporting day: it stays put when your hands are wet, sweaty or muddy, where plain strapping would start to slip.
Like all our gear, these are made to order from a tough PVC-coated webbing (BioThane), so they shrug off rain, sweat and mud and wipe clean in seconds.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.
Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.
