Description

A handmade anti-rear bit strap that connects to the bit to help keep a strong or excitable horse's head down when you're leading or working in hand. Made to order in your choice of USA Beta BioThane colours, with the loop attachment style for a quick, fuss-free connection.

Additional details

An anti-rear bit strap is a simple, effective bit of kit for a horse that likes to throw its head up or rear when it's being led or worked in hand. It connects to the bit and gives you a steadier point of control, so you can keep a strong or excitable horse settled and its head where you want it.

This is the loop attachment version, with a sewn loop at the bit end for a quick, low-fuss connection. A stainless buckle lets you adjust the fit, and there's a keeper to tidy away the spare end.

Like all our gear, it's made to order from USA Beta BioThane and put together by hand. You choose:

  • Your main colour, keeper colour and stitching colour

  • Buckle style and hardware

  • Size and strap width to suit your horse

  • Coating thickness — Standard or Heavy Weight

Standard and Heavy Weight share the same core strength; Heavy Weight carries extra coating for a fuller, more substantial feel in the hand.

Pick the main strap, keeper and stitching colours yourself, along with the buckle style. No two have to look the same, so you can match your other gear or make it stand out.

Both options have the same core strength. Heavy Weight adds extra coating for a thicker, more substantial feel, while Standard keeps things a little lighter.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.

Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.

Mac Tack is a small, Australian-owned business. We make our gear by hand from the best materials we can get, and we're proud of how it's put together.
