Cavesson Noseband

The cavesson is the plainest and most common noseband, which is part of why it suits so many disciplines. It sits just below the cheekbones and above the bit, and buckles up so you can adjust it for a snug, comfortable fit.

We make ours by hand from Beta BioThane® to match your Mac Tack bridle, with a softly padded noseband so there's no hard edge resting against your horse's face. Pick your colours for the main strap, the padding and the keepers, choose your stitching and buckles, and add the size and noseband width to suit your horse.

Every part is yours to choose: the main strap, the padding, the keepers, the stitching and the buckles. Match it to your bridle or set it off with a contrast, and it's made to order from there.

A soft padded lining sits against the nose, so there's no firm edge pressing in. Fitted a couple of fingers below the cheekbone and snug enough to slide two fingers underneath, it sits comfortably without interfering with the bit.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.

Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.
