Description

A Hanoverian noseband helps keep your horse's mouth closed and steadies the bit, with a padded nose liner for comfort. Handmade to order in Australia from waterproof BioThane, in your choice of colours.

Additional details

The Hanoverian noseband sits a little lower than a standard cavesson and adds a flash-style strap that fastens below the bit. That strap helps keep the horse's mouth closed and holds a jointed bit central and steady, which makes this style a good choice for a horse that tends to open its mouth or slide its lower jaw to evade the rein. It's a common fit on dressage bridles.

The nose section is padded and lined so it sits softly against the horse's face, and it buckles onto your bridle in place of a plain cavesson.

  • Steadies the bit and helps keep the mouth quiet

  • Padded nose liner for comfort over the bridge of the nose

  • Made to your colours — main strap, liner, stitching, keepers and buckles all chosen by you

  • Choose your size, noseband width and buckle style at checkout

Like all our gear, it's cut, stitched and finished by hand here in Australia from hard-wearing BioThane.

You pick the main colour, the secondary liner colour, the stitching, the keepers and the buckles, so the noseband matches the rest of your bridle or stands out on its own. Add a note at checkout if you have something particular in mind.

The padded, lined nose band spreads pressure across the bridge of the nose rather than digging in, and the flash strap is set to sit correctly below the bit. Sizing and noseband width are chosen at checkout so it fits your horse properly.

Beta BioThane® is a tough, PVC-coated webbing, and one of the best strapping materials around. It's stronger than nylon or leather and fully waterproof, so there's no oiling or conditioning to worry about. It stays soft and pliable but wipes clean in seconds.

Rinse it under warm water with a little mild soap and wipe it dry. There's no oiling or conditioning to do, and unlike leather it won't dry out or hold odours.

Mac Tack is a small, Australian-owned business. We make our gear by hand from the best materials we can get, and we're proud of how it's put together.
